Giovanti Humphries is a former banking and technology executive turned entrepreneur. He is currently the Co-Founder and Chief Financial Officer of GW Holdings, LLC an organization that cultivates, manufactures, and distributes cannabis products throughout California’s $3.0bn market. Giovanti manages all investor Relations, Financial & Pricing Models, Capitalization, and Strategic M&A efforts including license & real estate acquisition. Along with the financial performance of the organization, Giovanti oversees all governance & compliance including BCC / CDTFA / DCR compliance, Metrc compliance. This compliance also includes federal, state, and local regulatory agencies – including 280E compliance & IRC471 inventory costing. He is a leading Cannabis Chief Financial Officer in the state of California.
Prior to launching his current company, Giovanti was the Chief Financial Officer of a technology company that was building a blockchain protocol for supply chain tracking. At this organization, Giovanti was responsible SEC reporting and compliance, audit reporting and risk mitigation, and capitalization of the companies assets. He was at the forefront of speaking to government officials, academics, and multinational corporations on the impact of Blockchain, including a trip to the World Economic Forum in Davos in 2018.
Before becoming an entrepreneur Giovanti was Vice President of Business Development for City National Bank. His team was responsible for building a De Novo Market Strategy for the San Francisco Bay Area.
Giovanti began his corporate career at Wells Fargo, where he lead multiple teams, including one which oversaw $1bn in assets and $400mm in revenue. Giovanti held multiple roles at the organization, upon his exit he was a Senior Vice President in Community Banking. A graduate of the Accelerated Leadership Program, and a personal mentee of John Stumpf, a former CEO. He was the Community Bank Chair for the Executive Committee, which was responsible for philanthropic efforts across the organization.
He holds numerous awards at Wells Fargo including President’s Circle and number one Manager in multiple territories and states.
Giovanti is a graduate of The Herbert School of Business at the University of Miami, where he earned his MBA in 2013. His coursework included international business, corporate finance, and entrepreneurship. He is an active member of the alumni association and hosts engagements for current, and former students regularly.
